Disaster Research Days 2020 (DRD2020)

The Disaster Research Days 2020 support this dialogue and the networking between the individual scientific disciplines and departments in disaster management. The conference will take place from October 12 to 13, 2020 at the University of Innsbruck and include the following highlights:
- International keynote lectures (well-known representatives of the EU Commission and the United Nations)
- Specialist lectures in own breakout sessions
- Poster presentations
- Research Marketplace library
- Evening reception by the state of Tyrol

Call for Abstracts
You would like to submit a contribution for the Disaster Research Days 2020 in Innsbruck: The most interesting and high-quality contributions will be included in the conference program as an oral presentation. The other authors are invited to present their contribution during the poster session. [Nbsp] The extended abstract comprises two pages with tables and illustrations and can be written in both German and English.
Main topics:
- Geological risks and disasters: mass movements, avalanches and earthquakes
- Extreme weather events (heavy rain, heat, forest fires, late frost, hail, storms)
- Hydrological catastrophe events (floods)
- Risk governance, community resilience and crisis psychology
- Technology assessment in the context of climate change
- Natural hazards and their effects on the protection of critical infrastructure
Subtopics:
- Data management before / during / after the disaster event (acquisition, monitoring, simulation, modeling)
- Classification, standardization and event documentation
- Consideration of historical events or near accidents
- Hazard and risk assessment, risk and emergency management, industry risk analysis
- Risk reduction (land use and spatial planning, technical measures, nature-based solutions)
- Risk and crisis communication, legal ethics
- Crowd-sensing and involvement of the population
- Improvement of the functionality of protective structures and critical infrastructure
- Optimization of operational and supply logistics

- Until end of June 2020: reviewer period
- July / August 2020: Paper selection for conference program or poster session
Authors from the submitted extended abstracts are invited to publish their contribution as a full paper in a scientific magazine as a "Special Issue".
Positiv evaluated abstracts will be published in conference proceedings.
