The management of natural risks involves several phases corresponding to prevention, anticipation/preparadness, event management (which can develop into a crisis) and recovery steps. It always mobilises several actors (elected representatives, local authorities, technical experts, infrastructure managers, emergency services, the State, citizens) who must often make decisions in contexts of imperfect information (lack of information, uncertainty).

New, multidisciplinary combinations and associations to better analyse, reduce and manage risks

Several types of methods exist to help them. The CDP Risk@UGA project aims to propose new, multidisciplinary combinations and associations to better analyse, reduce and manage risks through its different Work packages.
Decision-making issues are often at the interface between human, social and engineering sciences: artificial intelligence, dependability and reliability analysis, decision sciences, economics, etc. are among the methods which are used.

Understand complexity of management decisions and multi-criteria support methods

A series of short webinars is proposed by the researchers of the CDP Risk@UGA project. This series, deliberately pedagogical, presents several topics.
The first one, lasting 40 minutes followed by 20 minutes of questions, will take place on 21 June at 11:00 a.m. on the theme: Multicriteria decision support in a context of imperfect information for the management and assessment of natural risks (Jean-Marc TACNET / INRAE).

Registration / Inscription

This presentation, accessible to all, will be very heavily illustrated.
It will address the complexity of management decisions, the different contexts of imperfect information before presenting developments in multi-criteria support methods combined with information theories (fuzzy logic, belief functions).
Examples of applications in the fields of protective structures and nature-based solutions will be provided.
It will be given in French with presentation materials in English.
