Integrating Social with Physical Sciences Towards Improved Natural Hazard Risk Management

M2 students in the RISK thematic program at the UGA Graduate School are organizing a seminar open to all to share the latest advances in the intersection between social and physical sciences in natural risk management.
The students will present a scientific analysis of this issue and invite experts to share their views on the following topics: How decision-makers integrate uncertainty into evacuations ; The integration of human behaviour data into seismic risk assessment ; Opportunities and challenges related to the use of citizen-generated data in disaster assessment ; The role of social capital on community vulnerability to flooding.

The seminar is open to all (students, PhD candidates, post-docs, researchers, teachers, and professionals) upon registration, and will conclude with a poster session and buffet.
