Risk Institute Events

M2 students in the RISK thematic program at the UGA Graduate School are organizing a seminar open to all to share the state of the art on the issue of Management of soil and wildfire risks under climate change. They will present a scientific review of the various issues involved, and invite scientists specializing in each approach to share their point of view and share a discussion with audience. The seminar is free and open to all, and will close with a cocktail reception.

The Risk Institute's Structures and Infrastructures, Systems and Risks cluster is launching a call for Impulsion 2025 projects. The aim of this call is to support interdisciplinary mini-projects aimed at developing new collaborations and/or exploring innovative approaches in the themes of the UGA Risk Institute.

The Risk Institute, PARN and IRMA are organising their Partners' Day at the Maison du doctorat Jean Kuntzmann on Thursday 19 September 2024 from 9am to 5pm on the theme of citizen data for risk prevention. Following on from last year's theme on tools and systems for anticipating risks in the field, this year we will be looking at the issue from the angle of dialogue and the uses of citizen data between scientists, public authorities, economic players and citizens. This seminar in French is aimed at the scientific community and all the local players involved in risk prevention.

The Summer School of the RISK thematic program of the Graduate School @UGA will take place on 27, 28 and 29 August 2024, in the GreEN-ER building in Grenoble (France). Within the framework of the ECOS NUMOTOS project on the seismic behavior of Peruvian dry stone walls (PIRCAS), Professor Sandra SANTA CRUZ of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) will be present at the 3SR laboratory from October 7 to 31, 2022. On this occasion, she will lead two seminars.

The digitization of public action - Citizens’ inclusion issues

The 7th session of the Global Platform (GP22) for Disaster Risk Reduction was held in Bali, Indonesia, from 23 to 27 May with 3,000 delegates from all over the world and another 3,000 attending remotely. The scientific community Risk@UGA was represented by Philippe Garnier, architect and researcher at ENSA Grenoble (AE&CC-CRAterre), & member of the Grenoble Institute Risk & Resilience project (Université Grenoble Alpes).

Supported by a Risk@UGA organizing committee, the 60th ESReDA Advances in Modelling to Improve Network Resilience seminar will take place at GreEN-ER in Grenoble on May 4-5, 2022. This forum will explore issues related to engineering resilience to various threats such as aging infrastructure failures, natural disasters and climate change, intentional attacks (cybersecurity and terrorism), and emerging threats faced by various industries, critical infrastructures, and cities.
